  • Himfed has been regularly supplying essential commodities during COvid-19. Himfed sold Fertilizers worth Rs. 5.5 Crores (approx.), Agricultural/Horticultural Tools/ Machinery worth Rs. 2.3 Crores and Petrol/Diesel worth Rs. 10.74 Crores during Covid-19 lockdown.
  • To harness the potential of godowns optimally and to derive economic benefits, Cold Chain Stores based on the infrastructural requirement and potential of the area for commodities like Apples ,Stone fruits viz. Plums, Apricots , Cherry, Mangos, Citrus Fruits, Potatoes , Tomatoes , Ginger, Green Peas etc. of the Growers/Farmers have been proposed to be setup.
  • CA stores can be established with the financial assistance of NCDC, New Delhi which also offers subsidy upto 50% for cold chain stores and allied activities.
  • Himfed plans to extend its business base in the state and in near future it would not only diversify its activities but also penetrate deeper into the rural set up
  • In addition to the existing Petrol Pumps Himfed intends to set up two other pumps in Kala Amb (Sirmaur) and Garamora (Bilspur).

The Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing And Consumer's Federation Ltd. an apex Cooperative Marketing Federation of Himachal Pradesh, popularly known as Himfed, has its Head Office at Shimla. It was registered on 30th June 1952 under the provisions of Indian Cooperative Societies Act, 1912 and is now covered under the provisions of Himachal Pradesh Cooperative Societies Act, 1968. It has about 900 cooperative societies of various types as its members.

Himfed wants to expand its business activities and explore new business ventures.The authorized Share Capital of the Federation is Rs.15,00,00,000/-( Rupees Fifteen Crores only), which is reserved for the members of Cooperative Societies, Government of Himachal Pradesh and National Cooperative Development Corporation, New Delhi. The paid up share capital of the Federation as on 31/03/2021 is Rs.601.13 lakhs. The reserve and other funds of the Federation on 31st March 2021 are Rs. 1169.17.00 Lakhs.

We have been undertaking the procurement and distribution of chemical fertilizers since ,1972-73 in Himachal Pradesh through two-tier fertilizer distribution system comprising of Himfed as wholesaler and primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies, private depot holders and some corporations as retailers.
